Talk to a Doctor
If you need to speak to a doctor, you have to decide whether it is an emergency (in which case you need to dial 193) or something that can wait. If you receive no help from 193 or if you decide the situation is not an emergency, you can dial 0900 27 000 from a One Touch mobile phone or a land line (all attract more units per minute than a normal call) and speak in English or Akan to any of our Doctors. With time, we should be able to provide a service that gives the option of speaking to a Doctor in Dagare, Dagbani, Dangme, Ewe, Ga, Gonja, Kasem, and Nzema.
Plans are underway to make it possible to dial from mobile phones of all other networks. Until then, callers from other networks may, if necessary, momentarily replace their chips with a One Touch chip in order to call 0900 27 000 for a Doctor’s advice. The power is now in your hands. You can talk to a Doctor in your own privacy whenever you want if you have access to a phone.
